The DIGITAL NURSERY WORKSHOP: Using Internet Resources
|
|
The Internet can be an unparalleled information resource for the agribusiness community. It can also be an endless source of frustration, as well as an ENORMOUS waste of time while searching for the right tools for the job. To help nursery personnel access and use the wealth of information available to meet the industry's diverse needs, researchers at Virginia Tech's Hampton Roads Agricultural Research and Extension Center developed the Digital Nursery Workshop. A classroom session of this workshop was conducted on December 7, 1999, with 22 enrollees - the maximum capacity of computer facilities at the Virginia Tech Hampton Roads Graduate Center, Virginia Beach. For those unable to attend the workshop, we hope this virtual version will allow more people including plant health care consultants and professionals, Master Gardeners, homeowners, and any other interested parties to benefit from the workshop information presented here. Our lists of links can help anyone ferret out the most useful sources of information.
