**Grasshoppers caused approximately 15-20 % defoliation in this test before an insecticide could be applied. Leaf area was high (LAI=4.5-5.0), therfore yield loss due to insects would have been minimal. But, NK S30-K6 experienced nearly 30% defoliation. Therefore, this yield may not reflect its yield potential.
